Christmas Day and a lot of laughter!

“Don’t be on your own at Christmas” was a great success. A full meal was provided on Christmas Day, with an afternoon of entertainment for the twenty-four people who attended. As it is more blessed to give than to receive, I can sincerely say that I was very blessed to give myself to serve others on that special day when God gave his son, a tiny babe to become the Saviour of the World.

The highlight of the afternoon was the “Queen’s speech”, faithfully interpreted by Alex Walker – suitably attired with pearls, wig, blouse and tiara of gold! It was hilarious and left us all holding our sides with laughter. The full Christmas dinner was delicious and thanks must go to all who worked the day before to prepare, on the day to cook it all and serve and afterwards to clear up and give lifts home. It was a well worth venture and everyone enjoyed their day. Of course it was much nicer than being on their own!
